Words by F.S Pierpoint (1835 - 1917)
(Tempo = 66 Happily) - Played on Bb
For the beauty of the earth
For the beauty of the skies
For the love, which from our birth
Over and around us lies, over and around us lies
Lord of all, to thee we raise
This our joyful hymn of praise
For the beauty of each hour
Of the day and of the nigh
Hill and vale and tree and flower
Sun and moon and stars of night
Lord of all, to thee we raise
This our joyful hymn of praise
For the joy of human love
Brother, siter, parent, child
Friends on earth and friends above
For all gentle thoughts and mild
Lord of all, to thee we raise
This our joyful hymn of praise
For each perfect gift of thine
To our race so freely given
Graces human divine
Flowers of earth and buds of heaven
Lord of all, to thee we raise
This our joyful hymn of praise
For me this songs reflects the give thank to God for the wonderful creation in this earth. We as a human supposed to be grateful for it.
Cos the nature reflects the glory of God.

I love this song too but John Rutter didn't write it. He just did one particular, beautiful, version of it. :)
Folliott Sandford Pierpoint (1835-1917) wrote the original.
